When I was looking for a job, I was tired of working for companies where ultimately what we did didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. I was wearing myself out working for company after company over my career, but I couldn't cite a single case where I felt that what the company did was especially meaningful or made a positive difference to society. I could take pride in the quality of how I did what I did, and be interested in aspects of my job, but the companies and projects themselves never provided any satisfaction. I took the job at Bright Power hoping to change that, and I got exactly what I wanted. What I didn't expect was the big difference it makes to work at a place that attracts people who are interested in that. Constantly working in an environment surrounded by intelligent, genuinely good hearted and well intentioned people has to be experienced to be understood. No politics. No a-holes. I don't think I'll ever be willing to work for a typical company again, life is too short to put up with that.

Svantaggi

It is a modest sized company that has bootstrapped its way up from nothing, so resources are typically tight. They are as fair as they can be but this isn't the place to work if maximizing your financial compensation is the foremost thing on your mind.

People are generally nice Beautiful office space in FiDi Work feels meaningful CEO is humble, transparent, and seems to genuinely have the company's best interests in mind

Stringent PTO (18 days/year, no sick time) - if you're sick for a week that's nearly 1/3 of your allotment for the entire year No Macs - the laptops and systems in general feel clunky and out of date Many people are overworked and stretched too thin so it can be hard to ask for support
