Vantaggi
I came to the company with solid prior experience. For an account management position hey offered me 78K and I negotiated it up to 80K. So, the salary was a plus. Also, a solid benefit package (good health insurance, matching 401K, vehicle, bonuses, commission, and PTO).
Svantaggi
There is never any time to train new crew members because when they're on the clock, those hours need to be billed, so they have no option but to learn on the job, which is a recipe for failure. There is huge employee turnover at the gardener level and as an account manager, you are left with either a skeleton crew, or crews of people that have never even used a mower. How do you keep your customers happy that way? So then customers are calling you, or your boss, or their boss to complain about poor service, which of course is understandable because the guys you have on the jobs have no experience. They get frustrated and leave, and now you're worse off than before. Not too many accounts managers can handle that, so for the 2017-2018 season I was there, all but 1 account manager ended up leaving!
