I've been working for Busuu for over 1.5 years now and agree with the 'play hard work hard' made by many colleagues. Busuu is a great place for ambitious people to achieve an ambitious vision. Management has high expectations, but does a good job in recognising and celebrating the successes. What I value the most is, that you get to work with incredibly talented people and that everyday you are faced with opportunities to learn and grow with the business. Great coaching and mentoring when you need it thanks to a very open environment. The last point is something that management is taking very seriously and have rolled-out a top notch management training programme for middle-managers. On top of that lots of perks such as inviting guest speakers, a training allowance, team-outings & lunches, etc. all plentiful. Overall, very meaningful work (helping 100M+ people break down language barriers) and a very exciting field to work in if you are passionate about tech for good and edtech specifically.

This is a fast growing scale-up, which naturally is facing some growth pains. Great people have left the company, but management is committed to making the company a place where people are happy and have an opportunity to grow (which is very encouraging). Some really great improvements as of late in that respect! Some internal competition for resources, means you can sometimes not get things done as quickly as you wish. There could be less meetings. Focus on short-term gains/monthly performance can be frustrating when you're scaling a company.
