Work perks are slowly vanishing. For example: when I got hired we had a generous meal stipend which was great. Then they took that away and started serving us mediocre meals in the office. Then they replaced that meal provider with REALLY bad meal provider. I'm talking middle school cafeteria lunch food. Way too many mandatory meetings that no one pays attention to Leadership highly prioritizes really granular projects that make no measurable difference in the long run Promotions are basically impossible if you didn't start as a salaried employee. I have seen numerous smart, hardworking coworkers get snubbed during every performance review and promised a promotion during the next round, only to be snubbed again. Work life balance is non-existent. From hourly employees up to leadership, everyone feels pressured to be "on" all the time. Performance reviews are ridiculous. They happen every 6 months and take a solid week of time to write your own self review and give reviews to peers. And the outcomes are predetermined so its just a huge waste of time. Recently, a coworker of mine that left for a better job was told this BEFORE performance reviews were about to begin: "It's a good thing you found a better job because you weren't getting promoted this round anyway."
