Work life balance is great. As long as your intentional on how you manage your time, the workload is very doable and fair. No travel is necessary for me in these two roles. Flexibility to work remote and in the office when I want (which i'm learning is a rarity among my peers.) No call metrics, just a quota. Just hit your quota and work. Quotas are attainable, but you do have to work at it. Nothing is going to be handed to you in the software sales industry.

Management is hot and cold. You can have a great direct manager and terrible vp leadership or great vp leadership and a terrible manager. I've had 4 managers in my 7 years here and only 1 maybe 2 of the 4 would I work for again. CA just announced the broadcom acquisition of CA and it's quite uncertain here. Management is always changing how things are set up and constantly trying to flip things up. The magic isn't going to be how you re-organize the business, the magic is going to be when you keep and cultivate your great talent. Too many solid folks are leaving due to the uncertainty and poor management.
