Vantaggi

Smart, knowledgeable coworkers. CDP's a world leader in resource accounting Impactful engagement with major global corporations on carbon, water, supply chains, cities. Great opportunity to get your foot in the door with other potential employers on sustainability. Staff is largely young and hungry to make a difference--not (yet) jaded with NGO life. Flexible working arrangements encouraged. Great career prospects, but not within the organization.

Svantaggi

Mickey mouse management in NYC! Despite being a global organization, the NYC office does not match the other offices in professionalism, organization, etc. Little effort made to retain employees. Wages are low--but no surprise here as this is an environmental NGO. Managers tend to be either checked out (working remotely with little day-to-day interaction) or obnoxious micromanagers. No real office manager or HR, meaning that what would be a small problem for a normal office turns into a large problem that saps colleagues' time and productivity. Senior management seems content-deficient, rather than content experts. Few benefits: Good vacation time but workaholic culture means catching guilt for taking it. Bonuses not assured. NO parental leave policy at all, despite young (and mostly female) staff, even after promise after promise and accommodating policies in other offices. Little attempt at forging any kind of corporate culture.

Vantaggi

Flexible WFH and Great Colleagues

Svantaggi

If you've read the previous reviews, the are 100% accurate . CDP was recently acquired by a private equity firm and has two company-wide reorgs in the past few years, resulting in around 20% of colleagues to be laid off. Many of us have accepted lower salaries because we believed in the orgs mission and the positive impact of its work. Meanwhile, senior leadership continues to receive very substantial compensation packages, often exceeding $500K. With this recent sale, there is considerable uncertainty about what lies ahead. Many employees are concerned about further org changes, additional cost-cutting measures, and the possibility of future redundancies. While nobody can predict exactly what will happen, morale has been significantly affected by the level of uncertainty. Don't walk, RUN!
