Fast paced with lots of exposure early on. Identifiable culture amongst employees means people are easy to get on with. Tech and computer systems are very user friendly and remove a lot of the boring admin work.

- Hit and miss in terms of managers, some are good, some are very inexperienced. - Very cliquey mentality, resignations (which are common) are taken badly and people are frozen out. - Salaries are significantly below the market rate and employees are held on more junior job titles, not reflective of their day to day job. - Rudeness and disrespect towards underwriters from brokers is frequently overlooked by managers. - A lot of perks have been stripped back, the Marbella trip and Halloween parties have both gone, likely never to return. - Working conditions are not very flexible, managers can often be clock watchers, and workflows are strictly adhered to meaning employees aren't trusted to get on with work, feels a bit like being at school. Not a positive or a negative but the company has a very clear business model of hiring lots of young people to churn through high volumes of submissions whilst giving them minimal authority to make their own decisions. After gaining experience, many of those people then move on to better paid jobs with more long term opportunity at larger insurers/Lloyd's syndicates. This is why it's a good place to start out but most ambitious people won't stay for long. The business model has been profitable so I don't expect anything to change.

We strive to provide a great working environment and are proud to be recognised as a top UK employer with high employee engagement and retention. We’re sorry you feel perks have been stripped back. Over recent years we’ve actually increased the perks available to employees which now includes regular well-being events, health checks, more on-site massage/osteopathy appointments, and four paid volunteer days annually, to name a few. In 2022 we held our first summer festival/party in London for employees. This was an inclusive event allowing many more colleagues to participate than ever before, which we held again in June this year.
