Since safety is paramount with the company--it's something they are especially known for on the Slope--and they focus on hiring quality people, it makes for a safe, professional work environment. Although situations can vary from project to project, for the most part management is supportive, encourages growth, provides training, and allows you to expand your skills. Employees who can wear many hats and have multiple skills are appreciated and utilized. Good benefits, good pay, and time off between rotations to enjoy the fruits of your labors are all positives. In addition, camp life is made more easy to take with the exercise rooms, music room, sauna, occasional special camp events, and excellent food.

This is not your "garden variety" job. Working outside in 45-degrees-below-zero (Fahrenheit) weather (with a wind chill that takes it down to 70 below or more) is a bit tough. Being away from home, working 12-hour days/7 days a week, driving ice roads, sharing a room and living in a camp for 6 weeks at a time is also challenging. (But BINGO night, with its commoradery and great prizes, does help break up the grind.)
