I learned a great deal while there. The fast pace was a pressure cooker for learning. I was able to keep all the airline and hotel points from frequent travel, which added up over my time there. Though I was never able to take advantage of the “unlimited PTO” for corporate employees, because of our insane project schedule. Health insurance was great and affordable.

They operate on a last-minute, reactionary schedule on literally everything. If something changes at the airports, you will find out about it at 8 p.m. on Friday and be expected to be on a 6 a.m. flight Monday to address it onsite. They refuse to plan projects like an ordinary company, and have not adapted past the reactive, startup way of doing things. There is no regard for your work-life balance whatsoever. Even in departments with on-call coverage, you will be required to be plugged in at all hours. It is not uncommon to see employees on Slack 10-14 hours a day. Leadership is disconnected from the organization, and couldn't care less about any employee below the director level. Airport employees (even management) are an afterthought and are seen as disposable, and as a result, have an astronomical turnover rate. Any honesty about realistic project updates that contradict what they want to hear is met with reprisals. Very top-down decision making, with very little input solicited from individual contributors. The technology is rushed and cobbled together. It is a miracle that things even run at all, given the numerous bugs and constant issues. I requested that my biometrics be deleted upon my departure, and I would not recommend the product. TSA now scans your biometrics after using clear, making the product redundant.
