Teaching with some of the most dedicated teachers and faculty is incredibly rewarding. An unpaid week off over Christmas break and a week off in July. Subpar health benefits, but fortunately, they come with free counseling sessions.

The teachers and faculty within the schools work incredibly hard to ensure the students are appropriately cared for despite desperately needing more support and resources from upper management and hardly ever receiving it. CORS has a known toxic work culture that leads to a high turnover rate. There is a vast disconnect since upper management seldomly visits classrooms to truly understand the daily struggles of teachers and faculty working within the schools. A considerate fellow teacher wanted to test for black mold within their classroom due to legitimate concerns about getting sick. When the test returned positive, they received incredibly negative feedback from upper management for performing the test in the first place, and they clarified that the matter would be discussed no further. A couple of members from the HR department care very little for the mental and physical health of the employees; even with copious employee complaints, little seems to change the hostile work environment they create, leaving the teachers and faculty to struggle to support students and families properly. Much of the teachers and faculty I knew often struggled to afford the basic cost of living since the pay for those working in the schools was notoriously low, especially compared to upper management compensation and benefits. Years ago, upper management CORS employees used funds that were supposed to be designated to help support impoverished families and school faculty within the communities to build a bistro next door to the main building in Piqua. Thankfully, those employees were replaced for obvious reasons; however, the corrupt silencing culture remains strong in some who hold power. After working at CORS for years and participating in various roles within the school, I would not recommend working here due to dwindling mental and physical health paired with unethical individuals who should not be operating in a non-profit. I appreciate and respect the perseverance and strength of the teachers and faculty who genuinely want to help the community and students.

If they have money left from their grant, they will help pay for school (but you do have to commit 3 years to working there). They pay gas mileage to home visitors and when employees go to and from trainings.

Upper management does not care about their employees. No support from supervisors. No raises and low pay. Terrible health insurance. Have observed favoritism. Overly bombarded with work. Sometimes, expected to do work outside of your job description. Upper management will keep things, about the company (such as grants, etc...) from the employees. Very low morale. Very stressful place to work.
