Vantaggi

Serious Music Industry Connections & Technology Access. First off I’m managed as a producer by CPL. Some of what I have to say is similar to my interview review. CPL has already started shopping/submitting my music to Sony Music/Universal Music/Warner Music Group. They verify this via emails and call logs when we have A&R meetings so I’m kept up to date with what is going on with my music and recording engineering. I started out entry level like most folk on our production teams. There were certain certifications I had to get to work with these guys but the certifications are relevant like learning about audio over ethernet, & optical networks using ‘Dante’ protocol. This is technology used by top sound companies, and recording studios that do everything from ‘Coachella’ to ‘The Super Bowl’ & the ‘Grammys’ on to and including top artists, & producers like ‘Dr. Dre’ to ‘Kanye West’ who both use SSL 9000 consoles similarly to how CPL uses SSL 9000 consoles. CPL is not alone with this as recording engineers who work with ‘Post Malone’, ‘Drake’, ‘Maroon 5’, and ‘Rhianna’s use SSL 9000 recording consoles as well. The management pushes this although they don’t do sound for either of the events or top producers, or artists I just named. Keeping it real and accurate here. While being here I’ve seen people come on board, and wind up doing work with major label artists out of major recording studios(look at CPL’s Instagram if you don’t believe it), and wind up working major live shows while working in conjunction with ‘CPL’. I’ve also seen people ‘get work elsewhere’ with major recording studios, and live sound companies because they took, or got the training that ‘CPL’ gave them. The training is quite thorough and nobody I’ve seen come on board was made to take any training, or pay for anything like I’ve seen posted elsewhere. It’s all voluntary. I think any negative reviews are from people who ‘washed out’, or just didn’t have any talent to begin with. You can teach someone but, your teaching can’t make someone become ‘gifted’. I mean this in no way demeaning. Just ‘speaking my truth’. Also nowhere else have I seen an Internship where if you ‘are gifted’ that they shop your music to major music publishers, and major labels ‘for free’ up front, and have the patience to get paid as your manager on the back end of the deal. You usually have to pay an entertainment attorney ‘huge bucks’, or sign a contract with a management firm that ‘may, or may not’ be able to get your career going. Far from a ‘Fraud’, or a ’Scam’. Anyone saying anything negative either does not apply themselves, is untalented, or both. Just being real, and not to offend anyone. They are trying to build a dynasty here with a music publishing division, an artist management division, a music production division, and so forth. All good! In closing I’d seen someone say they were with the company for a few years. Not sure how that is so as the company was only just incorporated just this year in 2019. This is verifiable as I did some research before getting involved. I did my due diligence and I’m satisfied with my experience at CPL starting with the interview process on thru to actively working with CPL today.

Svantaggi

Hard work & real talent required. If you are looking for easy try elsewhere! On the low side I’ve seen folk come on board, get training, and then ‘wash out’ of the internship program. It’s kind of like anything. If you apply yourself then you ’should’ see results. Example: You apply to an Ivy League school. You study hard, and you should get high grades. If you don’t study hard, and ‘wash out’ then it’s not the instructors, or schools fault if you didn’t apply yourself no matter how much the tuition is, or what the core course requirements. The folk that come on board at ‘CPL’ that put the study, and work in actually ‘get work’. It’s not the company’s fault if people don’t apply themselves, & ‘keep up’ so to speak.
