Poor pay and poor work environment both physically and mentally if you are a direct employee (low-level blue-collar). Bad work environment in many ways. As a low-level employee, you are a machine. Promotion is based on managers' hunch or preferences. However, most of time they prefer to give people without orthodox education/training better perk. You can have a manager title without knowing what chain of custody means in a manufacturing environment - as long as your boss likes you! Managers usually don't make decisions based on scientific evidence, numbers, but on a hunch or preference. There is an SOP but was not followed by the upper managers - their words are SOPs - even if it means they know you are wasting your effort and they are wasting company's time and money.
