Basically every other aspect of the job sucked.
- I worked here for two years and the kitchen never once had its stuff together. Guests would walk out on my shift maybe 90% of the time because the food was so horrible or took far too long to arrive.
- Management don't support you with complaints (and you get a lot of complaints). You have to deal with it yourself. Even if a middle aged man is shouting at you in the middle of the restaurant.
- Chronically understaffed because they're too tight to pay for more people. You'll never get breaks (which is illegal!) and you'll always end up working at least another hour longer than your shift because everything is chaos
- Only get your rota two days before the start of the week. Good luck planning any kind of social life
- They didn't have a cleaner, and I can count the number of times I cleaned the restaurant on one hand. AKA the place is gross.
- You're not allowed to use the cash till so you have to carry all your cash takings around with you in a little purse. That can come to hundreds of pounds. If any of it is incorrect you have to pay the difference yourself. You also have to keep all the card receipts in the same purse and one will inevitably fall out or get lost somewhere, and then you're in trouble.
