Vantaggi
The pros are mainly just the kids. It's also nice to be able to be outside and partake in a few activities.
Svantaggi
I'm not sure what the going rate was when I worked here but currently without provided transportation it is $776 for 5 days. But don't ask us where that money goes! Meanwhile, half of the art supplies the kids are drawing with are broken, nothing is given to the counselors to help watch up to 16 children besides a tee shirt (not even a clipboard) and cheap school lunches are an upwards of $9- wait... I'm sorry it's actually $11 now for the same thing kids are getting at school for 4 dollars or less. Counselors do not get a free lunch or any free snacks/food. Shadow is the head of the camp after Larry, I think that's her nickname. All I need to say is, people had such a bad impression of her, several other counselors said it was awful she decided to become a teacher in the school year. She was quite nasty to a lot of us and two faced, very uncompassionate. I definitely came home crying a few times. If you are introverted or disabled you will be treated like trash and written notes to "smile more!" or that the kids don't like you. There were a few people that were clearly disabled that worked there and they were the laughing stock of the camp and management didn't care enough to do anything. Working a 40 hour work week for minimum wage for this bs is not worth it.
