Can be away from home life for long periods

Fair wage. Challenging work that fluxuates with the fishing seasons. Opportunity to grow as the company has a large number of employees who will be retiring in the next few years.

Declining fish stocks and market. Continual cutbacks and restructuring - the company has changed its strategy from canning to fresh/frozen products. This is a pro as well as it keeps the company in business but there was a major reduction in jobs from this change. Also, people are very guarded over their jobs as jobs are not very aecure. So collaborating between departments is minimal.
