Canva. it's nostalgic for when it was still small. Constantly talking about the good old days when it was twenty people round a table, and look how far "we've" come... Mate you're not a little minnow any more. You HAVE your product market fit. Your competition takes you seriously. Do you? Feels like canva is allergic to changing it's old structure, processes, or anything that would Feel Less Fun. No some days it's like it's run by cliques and whisper networks, it's processes are weekly pivots and decisions made on gut feel, and morale is sinking left and right. Maybe that worked a year ago. But right now there's way less management than you'd expect at HALF our size, barely any companywide coordination, a deficit of designers and PMs and other specialists, and the C-suite micromanages like they've never figured out how to give away a block of Lego in their life. Trust issues??? And the obsession with harmony and looking good and positivity is ridiculous. I found out they didn't have room for everyone at the xmas party on the week of, but rumour has it they were sitting on that embarassing nugget for almost a month.
