Vantaggi
Work from home availability, flexible hours, phone work without client interaction, no commute when working from home, two 15 minute breaks PLUS another 15 minute break during the pandemic that you can use any time during your shift, $1 per hour added to current salary during the pandemic, night and weekend pay differential, occasional free meals catered in for employee appreciation, you can read, write, color, draw, knit, play hand-held/non-internet games, etc in-between calls. CapTel continues to listen to these reviews and it shows. They've improved so much since the pandemic and I'm grateful to be an employee of CapTel. I see all the complaints from other "current" employees. My advice is to just simply find a job that suits you better. This is a position where you won't have contact with your coworkers unless you're on break (this is perfectly fine with me). If you need to have that constant interaction with your coworkers and your management team, this job is not for you. However, if you like to be left alone to do your job (with an occasional monitoring of your calls), then you've come to the right place. There is nothing stressful about this job.
Svantaggi
When you work in the office, masks must be worn at all times even while you're captioning a call. If you already have respiratory issues, such as asthma or chronic bronchitis, this "might" be a concern. Sometimes working with the scheduling department can be a challenge but the situation has gotten much better. They didn't have day shift positions open when I applied. My work/life balance has been thrown off completely... but that's okay because you can put in for a schedule request change. When those shift times become available, you may be next in line to get those hours.
