If you are left wondering how you can show your process when there is no end goal and why you wouldn't want to have an end goal in the first place--then you should proceed with caution. It's an endless cycle of creating decks and having meetings to prove that you are "thinking" and "producing" but little to no actual work ever gets completed. Long-termers seem perfectly content with this set up. However, it can be maddening to goal oriented people. It's also a very political environment. Bonus are based on what essentially are gossip sessions between everyone who is at a level above you. Losing out on $10K in a bonus can often occur because you didn't say hi to someone when you passed them in the parking garage at the end of the day. This creates an every man for himself situation in many of the departments.
