Vantaggi

This is a great place to start working out of college. There are a lot of young people around to meet and network with, everyone I've worked with has been collegial and willing to help me learn. New analysts get to work on real business problems right away and can get heard right away if they prove themselves. There is also a real emphasis on work/life balance and senior management seems to really mean it. Nice benefits package too.

Svantaggi

Capital One has hired a lot of very smart people, which sometimes means that things are way more complicated than they should be. Recent acquisitions means that some parts of the company feel more disjointed than others. There is constant turnover as people rotate around to different teams- good if you like change but it sometimes can be overwhelming plus you lose institutional knowledge.

Great culture, supportive leadership, and meaningful creative work with opportunities to learn and grow.

Svantaggi

There can be a learning curve due to the size of the organization and the number of internal tools and processes.

Vantaggi

Some of the smartest individuals in their fields. The focus is always “forward” and the company is willing to adopt new tech to stay ahead for the purposes of the company’s (key word there) benefit. Great PTO and benefits.

Svantaggi

The company’s drive to keep itself moving forward has caused it to regress in other aspects. As a leading tech company first, and leading bank second, it’s embarrassing what their stance is on hybrid and remote work. The company can easily accommodate remote options for their employees not near main offices, but chooses not to. I am relocating to a major city with no major CapOne presence and their response was “too bad, either fly up weekly or you’ll be terminated for not meeting the hybrid requirements”. It’s embarrassing because most of my week is remote anyways. I wonder how many current and past employees have been impacted, and I’m worried about how much talent they’ll be pushing away in the coming years.
