Any role in the company other than a developer role is more or less a bore, even if you try to take the initiative to make it better and make more of an impact. The industry is just not right for everyone (auto recycling). Do your homework to find out if you will really like the company... try to talk to current employees. Know that it's a family company, and many of the employees are family or closely-associated.
