I loved working as a PTSM at carters! I loved my coworkers and being able to grow from a sales associate to a PTSM was really great experience! My boss was great and my coworkers were great. My review is so low because they don't pay their employees anything.

Not enough hours available to make it worth it to work as a part time sales associate. They needed the number of staff that they had because a bunch of the associates on pay roll could only work like 4 hours every other week but then when I dropped back down to sales associate I could only get like 6-8 hours a week (at most sometimes less), and it just wasnt worth it anymore. ALSO: the pay is HORRIBLE, like they pay their associates 9 dollars an hour and as a MANAGER I made 11... do better

Ive worked here for 7 years and in the last year this company has gone downhill. DMs don't care about anyone but making their bonus at the end of the year. Threatening store closure if we don’t force people to buy more to make sales(read the room). DM disgustingly said he was happy our clothes are becoming more expensive so parents HAVE to finance it and open our card. No work/life balance because of extension of operating hours and only getting one weekend off a month. Missing out on family because they want to be open on almost every holiday(wasting money because no ones shopping) No hours for sales associates while also expecting them to do commission based customer service minus the commission for $12/hr. They essentially want you to get on your hands and knees to beg customers to open a credit card even though you don’t receive any bonuses on opening any except 2 months out the year they feel generous enough to give you a whopping $2 per credit card you open! The pay for store positions is terrible for the amount of work they want you to do. If you see a job opening for this company keep scrolling they couldn’t care less about the employees keeping their stores running.
