Vantaggi

They are still remote currently which is unheard of, and their benefits are still pretty good.

Svantaggi

This used to be a wonderful place to work. The workload was usually manageable with the exception of the yearly rush during the spring/summer seasons. Fast forward to 2024, the yearly rush comes around. What do they do to mitigate this? Mass lay-offs, hiring temps to assist with volume but then letting them go right before the busy time of year, and tasking employees to assist other departments beyond their job description. Due to this, the rush from last year never really felt like it ended, only that it bled through to this year. The real clincher on top of this is that we received some of the lowest raises recently that I have seen the company offer in years. No bonuses, no incentives or rewards for the increased workflow, the most you’ll get is a “thank you” email. No career advancement either, even though they tout that as one of their strengths. Lastly, their systems are very outdated which can slow down output and make tasks difficult.

Vantaggi

The learners are genuinely wonderful — motivated, intelligent global professionals and their families. The work itself is rewarding and the DLS platform is easy to navigate. Language Network Specialists & Consultants are responsive (when they want something from you) and seem to be well-meaning.

Svantaggi

The payment timeline is the core problem. By the time you factor in their monthly cycle, audit period, and up to 45 calendar days for processing, you're waiting nearly three months to be paid for work you completed in week one. For a small independent business/freelancer, that's not flexibility, that's financing their operation with your own cash flow. If you have a full-time salary and teach for Cartus on the side for fun, maybe the structure works for you. If this is your business? Think very carefully.
