Vantaggi
They accept beginners. They are very responsive to questions and they are a fair, easy company to work for. You get paid while you learn transcription. There are very detailed guides for you to reference when you have questions about style or punctuation. You learn punctuation forwards and backwards. You also increase your typing speed and listening skills. It gives you confidence when you are between jobs. You learn a lot from the audio you transcribe. They pay on time every time. It is hard to find good companies these days, so that is why I felt it was important to leave a positive review. I now work as an office manager for a newspaper and no longer have time to freelance, but I appreciate the time I spent working for Casting Words and the experience I gained.
Svantaggi
The beginner level did not always have a lot of work, but that might have been because there are a lot of people competing for that level. It's not a "get rich quick" company. The work is painstaking and the pay is by the audio minute, not a real minute. Transcription is time consuming.
