Never thought I’d be so happy to be laid off. Which, in very Catface fashion, came with zero warning. The worst professional experience of my life. Senior leadership is extremely unprofessional. Timothy, the President will say he doesn’t play favorites, but he absolutely does. He’ll say he respects your opinion, but he does not—unless you’re on his “good list” and keep quiet about their terrible practices. He’ll say you can voice your honest concerns to him, and anyone who says otherwise “doesn’t know him.” Not true. Even when the team attempts to bring up valid concerns from fans, he’ll dismiss it and belittle them saying we can’t change what we’re doing due to a “loser living in their parent’s basement.” Yes, the very people who are spending their own money (he’s determined to exclude the numerous 20-something fans) and their parent’s money to keep this abysmal company afloat. If they don’t even respect the fans who love the brand, do you really think they’ll respect you? Management consistently makes decisions that negatively impact the team they claim to care about. Their actions rarely match their words. They’ll hold a town hall to say viewership is “down” on the YouTube channel and that spending needs to be reduced to keep employees—yet will continue hiring at least a dozen newcomers over the next 2–3 months. While you’re left a confused sitting duck wondering how those two things make sense. There are genuinely hardworking and talented individuals at the company, but leadership decisions create an environment that leads to high turnover. Responsibility for that turnover is placed on other people. Compensation is not competitive, and the benefits are lacking. It’s difficult to find the work rewarding given the unstable environment and lack of appreciation. Speaking up about improvements can work against you if you’re not on management’s “good list.” As most of these reviews have pointed out, HR is just as untrustworthy, so be prepared to be trapped if you ever have an issue arise with a colleague or upper management. Do yourself a favor and skip to that next job application.
