As an Assistant Manager, the role came with far too much responsibility for the hours and pay offered. I was often expected to manage multiple areas with little support, which led to a constant feeling of being overwhelmed.
The pay was not reflective of the level of responsibility. For the workload and expectations placed on me, it felt like the compensation was far below industry standards for a managerial role.
The work-life balance was non-existent, as the hours didn’t allow for adequate time off or personal life, especially given the heavy workload.
The company’s leadership and communication were often lacking, which made it challenging to carry out responsibilities effectively. There was a noticeable gap in support from upper management, which led to frustration and burnout.
