Vantaggi

- flexible work hours - good benefits (free exercise programs, free subscriptions to health apps, option to enroll in coupon/discount programs, variety of health/vision/dental plans to choose from, retirement offered) - generous PTO policy, plus additional time off for volunteering, bereavement, etc. - good internal hospitality (lots of opportunities for socializing both virtually and in person, programs to help new hires get comfortable, variety of clubs/groups/message threads available that focus on everything from pet photos to the LGBTQIA+ community) - criticism is offered constructively - upper management within Cell Press tends to be receptive and understanding and makes an effort to know everyone by name

Svantaggi

- low pay. Although the pay is considered competitive compared to other companies within the industry, the industry itself tends to offer low pay. - internal diversity initiatives are geared towards inviting marginalized groups into a privileged environment instead of dismantling the privilege to create a non-exclusionary environment. - high employee turnover rate - upper management within Cell Press's parent company often disregards criticism from employees

Vantaggi

I loved working here and being a part of the scientific community.

Svantaggi

There were severe changes that made the job a nightmare. Also, even though we had a certain amount of paid days as part of our original sign on packages, we had 10 days of PTO taken away from us through a "restructuring" of how it was supposed work, but it was really just so they didn't have to pay for 10 extra days off for us. They also renamed all the jobs so that they didn't match the broader market and we couldn't argue that we were not being paid even remotely close to fair market rates.
