The company is founded, funded, and run by a CEO with deep emotional and personal issues that manifest themselves in every single day at Chew. He isn't a leader running a business- he's a disturbed individual who takes out his need to stroke his own ego and transfer his emotional baggage onto his employees at all levels, as well as on the business through self-destructive decisions. And because he has no accountability to anyone else, his horrible behavior goes completely unchecked. To be more specific: -He goes to great lengths to control employees. I confirmed he eavesdropped on at least one meeting of senior leaders discussing cultural problems and massive employee turnover through a Nest cam, which is illegal in the state of Massachusetts. He frequently comes up with arbitrary and strict new rules on how to look, act, and think. -He chronically exaggerates, even to the point of flat out lying at times, to both staff and clients. -He values loyalty over all else. He tries to create division between employees by playing obvious favorites with those that tell him whatever he wants to hear. -He's unable to deal with any form of criticism, and goes great lengths to place the blame on others (often done publicly).
