If your face doesn't fit, or your management don't like you, you're be forced out, one way or another, you're sworn at, belittled in front of colleagues and in some cases, clients. You get sent emails on the weekends telling you what you haven't done, or done well, should have done, or done better. Your colleagues turn a blind eye because they don't want to raise their head above the parapitt, Senior management turn a blind eye or point you at HR, who then do everything in their power to make it your fault, or turn the issue into something you caused, and then you're forced out. It happened to me, it's happened to someone I met at Cisco and it's happening right now to someone I've never met. I was sworn at on the phone, I was belittled in front of clients and I was treated like dirt in front of work mates. My weekly forecasting call was an hour of bullying, belittling, chastising and general abuse. The manager in question had done it before and was recorded by HR, but they ignored this and made it me with the problem. The fellow employee that backed up my claims of bullying has also since left. The fellow employee that refused to support me in the process is still there, and a friend of the bullying manager. The senior manager that turned a blind eye is friends on Facebook with the bullying manager.... go figure.. All in all, a hateful place to work, life is too short to work in such a toxic environment and for managers that have no idea how to lead, support, promote or manage in order to get the best from people.
