Vantaggi
Good healthcare coverage. Working from home (though with the pandemic, there was no other option)
Svantaggi
Training My experience of training was dreadful at Citi. It's difficult to get up to speed/train from home, which I acknowledge, however the approach from the management was to ask me what training I had scheduled for the week - I would expect training to be outlined and scheduled for you when joining a new company. Equipment I was provided with a sub standard Chrome OS PC that wasn't fit for purpose so had to buy my own laptop which I received no reimbursement for. Team Structure Again, working from home during a pandemic has its limitations for team building/co-operation however my experience at Citi was that teams were very disjointed with little crossover. There was no real efforts to keep the team in touch and team meetings were a rarity. Work/Life Balance There was definitely a culture of not being away from your computer at all during the hours of work which was only exacerbated by having to message when you left the desk/went for lunch. Felt almost like you were back in school having to ask permission to leave your desk. Management From speaking to people in other teams at Citi, along with my own experience, it seems like managers at Citi are told to manage through thinly veiled threats and aggression. I found that my manager was as nice as nice when talking directly, full of praise and advice, however when there was any official requirements such as probation the story was very different. Complete absence of human understanding for issues that people have going on outside of work.
