The work environment is, to put it bluntly, toxic. Senior management uses favoritism and preferential treatment when filling management positions. Senior management relies on pressure, threats and fear-based tactics to drive performance. Development timelines are frequently unrealistic, with new projects introduced just weeks before go-live dates. Management has expressed expectations that staff should work excessive hours to meet deadlines, and I quote: "At least you have 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to finish this". Employees are often treated as easily replaceable, which impacts morale and job security. Performance reviews are sometimes used as a tool to push staff out rather than support development. Line managers are expected to be constantly available, leading to poor work-life balance. There is a tendency to replace experienced developers with interns as a cost-cutting measure. Long-serving employees (some with 20+ years of tenure) have been let go or encouraged to resign. Deadlines are imposed by upper management without adequate consideration of team capacity or available resources.
