Poor management, with my experience the manager often threw me under the bus to upper management such as the owner. The owner was hardly around in studio so he would depend on the manager to understand what is going on in-studio. This only works if your manager actually has your best interest at heart. My manager made it seem like she was advocating for us but overtime I noticed she was actually just trying to save herself. Not a good trait of a manager. Furthermore, I was the only Black person in my studio even though we live in atlanta (imagine that!) Additionally, they have unrealistic expectations about what you can do as sales associate - expecting you to pick up shifts last minute even if you aren't on the schedule. They are very money hungry and will not hesitate to fire you if you are not meeting sales quotas.
