Vantaggi

It was fun teaching the kids. They were excited to learn and engaged in the classes.

Svantaggi

During the interview, you're given a rate of $20/hr. This isn't bad for a part-time gig you can do from home. But, once you get the contract, it's actually $20/session. They want you to log in 15 minutes before class for free, prepare for class for free, answer chat questions, you guessed it - for free! So in reality you only make a few bucks an hour and if you want to do justice by the kids you need to spend a good bit of your own time. In a nutshell - they don't value their instructors. The platform is buggy, with no documentation to be found, so you have to ask a question in slack and wait a few days (if ever) to get a valid answer. This isn't very useful if you run into platform issues during a class. I was told I'd get a $75 bonus upon completing a class. Never happened. CW has the potentail to be a really good platform for teaching kids to code, but my experience with them was quite disappointing - I won't even discuss the fake code they teach under the guise of python. They have a long way to go to become a mature company and give the kids and their parents their money's worth.

Vantaggi

The CEO Jey has a great business acumen, and is not in the race of raising VC money and taking an exit. He wants to build a profitable business, which means a stable job for those who work here.

Svantaggi

A lot of job titles are contract and hourly based.
