Firstly, I want to start off by saying most people at this company are great, it's a good product. It’s so unfortunate that some people make it so toxic. Due to Cohere growing rapidly, they are promoting/hiring inexperienced people into leadership positions. My manager was so inexperienced in how to manage a team/department to the point where I would say it was career sabotage. I was constantly being gaslighted about events that occurred to the point where I was questioning my own sanity. If you're a leader you can act however you want at this company. - Lack of boundaries, you will be messaged outside of work hours and while you are on vacation - During my 1:1s my Manager would always start them off by talking about herself and what has happening with her that week. She would constantly complain about being over worked and stretched too thin. - The People Operations team have a weekly meeting where they go around in a circle and share what they called a “Spidey-Sense”. It’s basically a way for HR to get information on what’s happening in the company. - Diversity and Inclusion is severely lacking. When you only want to hire people from large well known companies and won’t even consider looking at a resume from people with other backgrounds, then you’re not being inclusive. Not everyone needs to come from a big name company to do a great job.

Good pay and benefits, friendly coworkers (depending on which team you're on). Company is healthy with high ARR and customer base is largely enterprise level businesses.

Major power grab happened recently with the old head of marketing leaving. Lack of clarity around company mission, vision, purpose, values and culture. Sole focus is on revenue growth at all cost with blatant disregard for employee wellbeing, WLB and healthy team dynamics is important but often ignored. Teams work in silos and communication is difficult with unclear POCs. Hopefully this stabilizes and things improve as new leadership finds proper footing. High rate of turnover recently since leadership transition.
