Vantaggi
First of all the CEO and President are wonderful to work for. They are involved in all aspects of the business. They are not only approachable, but they seem to really care about the employees. This filters down through the rest of the company and gives it an overall family feel. Many staff have been here for well over a decade (in many cases, decades) which is rare today. The company itself has also been around long enough where children of the original staff are being hired and are working here. The company also goes above and beyond to really take care of the employees if anything happens (i.e. death of a loved one, sickness, etc.). It's a great place to get started in your career and you'll be treated well. PTO options aren't great, but the company sort of makes up for it with lots of holidays throughout the year and a week and a half off over Christmas.
Svantaggi
The biggest con about working for CollegeSource is the lack of incentives. There are no consistent raises, no set bonuses, and there are limited options to advance in your career here due to how small the company is. The company emphasizes that the org chart and titles mean nothing as a way to make people feel more important or included. The problem is, it creates confusion over who to approach in the direct chain of command and makes title changes seem unimportant or pointless; especially when a title or position changes and there is no change in compensation to go with it. The lack of raises, bonuses, and incentives has been a common complaint for many, many years and it continues to be ignored. Raises are given sporadically and it's typically years between them-- sometimes 5+ if the employee doesn't bring it to anyone's attention. I'd say there are other minor cons that are not unique and are found at most other companies. Example: lack of information sharing or clear direction from the top, HR isn't helpful or responsive, nepotism, etc. Health insurance has also become increasingly worse over the last 5 years.
