The culture at Feedonomics when I began there in 2021 was second-to-none. I was amazed at the people and the leadership. As Commerce (FKA BigCommerce) began taking more control of the corporate structure at Feedonomics, the culture remained a good one for the most part and the teams felt valued.

Compensation was on the lower end, especially with the ever-growing list of items Customer Success was being held responsible for with no increase in pay. There were only 6 individual-contributing team members managing over 1K customers. The layoffs were understandable, but the way it was gone about felt unprofessional. The culture began to shift as the founders and former executives were leaving and handing the business to Commerce. Towards the end of my employment, Commerce didn't ask for feedback from its people or at least it didn't feel like they listened at all. We spoke with management that things were not going according to plan and they spoke to others on our behalf, agreeing that the changes could be for the better but weren't taking into consideration what team members were doing on a daily basis to achieve the high expectations set by sales leadership. Instead, we felt like our feelings and opinions were brushed off or ignored.

-Friendly coworkers -Great partners -Opportunity to try things -Many people genuinely care and are willing to help in when asked -New leadership team has the right idea (though unfortunately came in too late imo) -Great CFO

Svantaggi

-Company trajectory on the decline -Top heavy organization, too many people trying to delegate down to the few people who actually execute -Lack of proper strategy -Most of the mid level managers who were the heartbeat of BigCommerce historically have left and not sure if the company will be able to reinvent itself in time -Conflicting goals of different organization pit teams against each other. Caused too much friction internally. For a company struggling for relevance from external sources, this was a mistake.
