Vantaggi

They know how to make themselves sound falsely excellent. Oops, not a pro.

Svantaggi

This place is overall one negative disaster. They go out of their way to make themselves sound magical, unique, and prestigious, but let me tell you, this company is ruthless in the way the speak to one another and about their clients. It’s worse than a middle school hallway! Staff are evaluated super unfairly. People make claims about your performance based on rumors and irrelevant missteps. If you have the audacity to overlook a minor detail, you’re screwed. If you think differently? Keep your mouth shut or you’re forever on the naughty list, watched like a hawk, and beaten down daily from there. Staff are conditioned to get a high off catching others’ mistakes or one-upping them on an ideas. If you make a mistake, someone WILL catch it, and to make themselves look good, they’ll cc half the company as they politely call you an idiot and then follow up privately and continue to bite your head off. Oh, and then they’ll summarize what you talked about “privately” in ANOTHER email where half the company is cc’d again. It’s pretty traumatizing and emotionally abusive. There’s free alcohol in the fridge (they love seeing their favorites pour a glass of wine!) and you’ll be sure to get YOUR performance bonus! With all that said, the truly sad part is they bring you on and say all the amazing things to help people live healthier lives. But that’s really not what you do there. You’ll spend your days trying to keep your head above water, doing mindless tasks, that can only be done one day, and pretty much dreading everything.

Hi there, We all spend a lot of time at work. So it’s important to find a job that’s both challenging and meaningful. In your case, it sounds like CommunicateHealth is not that job. And I’m sorry to hear that. If you are a current employee, I encourage you to come chat with me personally (or reach out to our HR manager), and we’ll pay you $1,000 cash to quit. We invest a lot in our employees. This week we distributed 20 percent of our profits back to our staff (something we do each December). We recognize that our employees have busy, complex lives - and that’s why we offer unlimited paid time off and flexible schedules. We also invest a lot of time and energy in training our employees. This includes providing feedback on performance. It’s not based on micromanagement, but rather on setting each team member up for success. In fact, “catching others’ mistakes” is not in line with our core values, which emphasize “making others successful” and asking for help “early and often.” Making mistakes is how we learn. And it’s true, there is free alcohol (and seltzer and coffee), but it’s mostly reserved for after hours and Friday afternoons. And indulging is not in any way linked to your performance review or bonus. Your performance is evaluated against clear criteria that are spelled out in your job description. Each employee reviews these criteria with their supervisor at 60 days, and then every 6 months after that. We’ve worked hard to make our employee review and salary structure as transparent as possible, but I don’t doubt we still have room for improvement - and I welcome your suggestions. Thanks for your candid review. My door is always open. Stacy Robison, President and Co-Founder

Vantaggi

Benefits are fine, and they’ve retained a talented staff despite the terrible environment because they tend to high mission-focused people.

Svantaggi

Too many to list. Senior leadership is an absolute mess. One owner became recently more present in the daily work, and her lack of social awareness and general poor communication skills leaves a messy wake that staff have to try to clean up (when she’s not throwing them under the bus for one reason or another to try to deflect from her own serious lack of competence). The culture is toxic, and doesn’t in any way reflect the org’s externally marketing of it. The only hope here is that the company that acquired CH is shades better than its current leadership. It wouldn’t take much.
