Leaders at Compass were hired because they outlasted everyone else, not because they are good leaders. Most mean well but they lack the skills to delegate, organize teams and set boundaries for their subordinates. The culture at Compass is to make it someone else's problem. Everybody wants to solve the problems, but no one actually wants to do anything to fix it. Shifting blame and passing the buck is common. People and managers will not hesitate to throw you under the bus. Contracting is common on most teams, so you receive no benefits, vacation pay or job security. As a result, the company culture lacks the togetherness felt at other organizations. People are cold and generally only interested in protecting their own interests.
