Vantaggi
They provide a high level of responsibility to everyone; including the new grads which makes for a good resume building opportunity. Summer hours, free food once in a while. Work/life balance isn't bad at all; good for employees with families.
Svantaggi
Fairly average employer with a very top heavy org structure. Leadership is very old school and made up of all old, white men. Serious lack of diversity and innovation runs throughout the organization. The overall culture is cold and dry where most people only care about how to advance their own agendas rather than how to build great service models to grow the company. Definitely a "me first" rather than a "we first" organization. Most head office employees are within the 40-60 age bracket with very little ambition or drive; complacency runs deep within this company. For the young, ambitious employees, they have to put their time in before they can move up even if they are better than the older, complacent employees. Compensation is around 30% below market. Promotions are based on politics and nepotism and you better know how to play the game in order to move up. Senior leadership only cares about the bottom line and short term results rather than building long term growth strategies. Also, the new grads (MITs) are considered company royalty and are treated better than any and all other employees within the company. Doesn't make much sense to me but then so do many other things at this company.
