That said, it’s an exciting time to join and make an impactful difference, especially for anyone who enjoys the startup culture. Thriving at Compose.ly requires keeping an open mind and welcoming challenges head-on rather than taking shortcuts. It’s ideal for people who can work independently and execute without the need for constant feedback. I’m confident in the future of this company as it expands and develops more structure.

I've gotten two monthly gigs through Compose.ly, both on retainer. My Compose.ly managers are professional and attentive. They notice timecard problems and bring them to my attention. They check in occasionally to see how things are going but otherwise leave the work arrangements and assignments between me and the clients. Payment is always on time.

Excellent clients with long-term relationships here. The in-house team, aside from leadership, is full of experts and creative people who are just fun to work with.

The leadership team is going to drive this company into the ground. No one on that team has any agency experience, and promotes their favorites who say yes to everything and agree they're always right. They've laid off 6 people in the last year as a "restructure" and then later told people it was a performance-based firing (including a pregnant, disabled, black employee). A new CEO was just named, a marketer who has no business experience, or really any experience in the services being sold by this agency. Anyone who disagrees with the CEO will inevitably be fired in the coming months.
