Pay, the pay is abhorrent along with the work/life balance, if you're a broke recent college grad interested in IT project management I would look elsewhere at the bigger IT project management companies in the area where most are willing to train you. The hours generally are 830-530 and to work from home takes a miracle as the company likes to have close watch on its employees and rarely trusts them to work from home even tho studies have shown that people are much more productive while working from home. The upper management isn't always politically correct and half the time don't seem to know what they're doing. Most of the pm's are there due to sticking it out while more qualified people get their experience and then leave the company for better pay and benefits. The Team lead/Pm role is somewhat obscure and cloudy as it appears both positions do the exact same thing. The PC's get crapped on with boatloads of work while the TL's and Pm's stand by and watch and wonder why people leave and also implode with the excess work. There is also on call for 1 week straight shifts. Usually you work 830-530 but are responsible for dispatches from 530p-830a m-th then you are responsible to work from 8a-11p Saturday and 8a-830a Sunday to Monday morning for a whopping $200 on top of your normal salary BUT this extra $200 is taxed not as straight pay but as a bonus where it's taxed at about 20% or higher and I avg about $100 extra on those pay checks. The account dept is a complete joke as the better qualified 3rd party contractors and higher paid contractors request more money than contingents "Minutemen" or "speed pay" techs and accounting usually tried to avoid paying them or delaying payment by 6mos to a year (if you don't believe it, look up the reviews online yourself)

Hq did treat satellite office differently but didn't consider the COL difference between Tampa and Ohio for pay.

This up and growing company gave me a shot and it has helped me immensely. With no degree and no prior experience I was brought in as a temporary project coordinator. I am now a full-time employee and preparing for teamlead positions after nearly 1 year in my spot. If you are either a hard or highly efficient worker you will do well here. I love my management and I love my peers. I couldn't ask for a better work environment.

The company was bought out by Comcast last August. While not a whole lot has changed, the position was switched to hourly. While this meant more money because of overtime, it also means there is a lot more micromanaging going on. Comcast is sure to bring more changes in the future. According to people who have been here for years, we are underpaid. We do everything when it comes to IT project management from developing the SOW, finding technicians, negotiating pay, arranging all materials and access, managing the technicians, direct customer relations, and billing.
