It was a small team of 3-4 workers (all contractors, no employees FYI) so it was simple enough to bond and communicate.

In my initial phone screen, I was told that Corcus was working with "thousands" of brands. It turns out that 99% of these brands are not aware of Corcus because their company info was all scraped from the web. There were no long-term workers around, and my co-workers had been working at the company for a few months when I joined. We were a tiny team, but the employer struggled to manage us and leadership was absent. It was clear that he didn't know what direction his "company" was supposed to take. When I left, he still didn't know what Corcus was supposed to be in the influencer marketing space. He also struggled to sell his idea to investors. I don't think there's anyone working there at this time... Also, do not be fooled--this job posting on AngelList was (maybe still is) advertised as a full-time job, but it's all contract work with much less pay than what is shown. Well below market value for a software engineer in NYC.
