Vantaggi
I was happy making overtime hours. They were genuinely trying to improve the infrastructural pitfalls of work routine like lack of equipment organization and ease of access to necessities (gloves and blades)
Svantaggi
My experience with coremark only lasted 2 months but I will also share the information of coworkers including those who've stuck with Coremark for 2-9 years Company itself: Firstly, they're misleading. False promises of weekends off, 4 days a week 10 hour days and "promote from within". In reality this is 5-6 days a week and 10-12 hours a day. All work is on your feet and there's plenty of departments where they will place you. Non temperature controlled environment. If you're really lucky you could get a job in the receiving department office with AC and a chair. But you don't have a choice. Work environment: My time there, I dealt with sexual harassment, racial discrimination from one of the managers, and unequal pay as a white female young adult. When I submitted a request for a raise ( after realizing I was being paid less than other coworkers and I had more experience than them) the HR was delightful.... however, I was interrogated by a higher up who was hostile and lied to my face. There were also instances of people being flown into the warehouse from other warehouses throughout the state. SCANDALS of sexual soliciting and underage females sleeping with 40 something managers. Work: Limited supervision depending on department. Easy work and everyone slacks off, steals, takes extra time on breaks and lunches. LIMITED EQUIPMENT! Everyone is fighting for guns just to do their job. There was little regulation when I first started work but over time rules were enforced! The one that made me leave: No phones or headphones allowed in the warehouse. You can't leave till the job is done. Long term: if your proficient and a long term employee they will expect you to teach new employees and manage your workload to get the job done on time. Theres also no switching departments once they decide your a good fit somewhere. Everybody is robots. Overworked underpaid. A guy in my department only made 13 something an hour (2 years of being at coremark). Another guy was at 16 (after 9 years working at coremark!) Pay: they started some people at 12 others at 13 which I figure depends on discrimination factors although they will say it's job experience (bull). They offer a dollar raise for being trained on their equipment and they promised to give a dollar raise after 90 months and periodical 25 cent raises. Even these promises are unfulfilled!!!! People who make it to supervisor positions are switched to salary which could backfire, if hourly wages increase and you're making less then everyone else (happened with one girl from out of state). If you have any self respect or common sense stay away from this place. You're on the same level as the sex offenders, felons, and homeless people they hire. It's a rancid pit full of low grade degenerates
