CorkSport is staffed with a close knit group of employees along with the two business owners who also provide full time positions in the business. Everyone has equal chance to have their voice heard by management and changes made to improve the work environment and duties. The day to day work load could be considered high, but productive and is rewarded equally with quarterly reviews. If you're a Mazda enthusiast/gearhead then working at CS is great with the added "Mod Budget" the company has offered. They actually help pay for some mods to your Mazda vehicle.

As mentioned above the day to day is a higher workload than many other jobs. Due to the nature of a small business, each employee has a few main responsibilities or "multiple hat wearer" and this can be more difficult at times.

Wide breadth of work experience in the engineering department. Opportunity to impact direction of the department and product line. Opportunity for direct communication with customers in order to rapidly develop products that followed market demands. Well known and highly regarded brand in the markets that they service. Solid opportunities for using racing efforts to develop market leading products. Positive long term relationships with OEM's.

It's been a while since I was at CorkSport, and I have kept in touch with the owners over the years, and have since started my own performance automotive company in a different market. These are my experiences as to the cons of working there, but most of these things have been sorted out in the last 4-5 years due to the substantial growth of the company. I felt like the owners had a very grand view of where they wanted the company to go, and when I was there it was a 4 person work environment, which made some of the organizational structure a little over-formal and top heavy I felt. That being said, it was excellent foresight for the owners to establish those methods early on and that has led to their ability to both grow the company and efficiently manage a larger workforce. The only other con I had in regard to my experiences there were based on lack of equipment and technology that would have improved my abilities to do my job. All of this equipment and technology is now on site at Corksport.
