None. This was the worst recruiting experience of my life and felt I had to share.

I was approached about a position and was told at the end of the interview process that I was being an offered a different lower-level position. I provided the company with my current salary and benefits and requested a base pay amount with benefits. During the process, I requested updates that I did not receive until a week later. I was asked if I would be interested in a lower level role at the end, which I said yes to in order to see what the offer would be. The offer was just the base pay I requested with no bonus or opportunity for a raise the following year. When I asked about this I was told the position did not come with a bonus. I accepted the offer initially, but rejected it within the hour and notified the recruiter. They were rude and unprofessional, implying it was my fault for not communicating that I needed bonus when I was already receiving one and told me that very few employees at the company receive a bonus. I was then harassed with email after email about why I thought I would receive one (a benefit website link I was sent for the original job included a statement about a 15% bonus). I was then told that oh the hiring manager wanted nothing to do with me now (I had already rejected the offer, now several times because they would not stop emailing me) and that I was unprofessional for rejecting the offer after initially accepting and that I should do better communicating my compensation needs to avoid souring any other opportunities. I don’t know if the recruiter thought I was trying to negotiate (I wasn’t) or why they were so combative but I informed this person that I found the emails rude and unprofessional and I was not interested in this company or the position. I also said not to contact me again and blocked the recruiter, not something that I have ever had to do in my 15 years in the workforce. I have never experienced anything this awful applying for a job and wanted to warn others.

The interview process was well-structured and I was able to have a good sense of the team culture. I spoke with people across research, product, engineering, and design leadership, and each conversation felt intentional rather than repetitive. Another thing that stood out was the onboarding experience, even after accepting the offer. Every step felt smooth - they were responsive, proactive, and thorough in a way that seems pretty rare nowadays. Anytime something came up that needed attention, they were already on it - I really appreciated that

There are very few downsides to the experience—if anything, the week goes by too quickly and it’s hard to choose which activities or sessions to be part of because there are so many great moments happening at once.
