Management seems committed to make irrational decisions deliberately, whatever their reasons may be since no one could possibly know. Might be incompetence, might be something else; their goals are unknown. Beware of anyone coming from a managing position. Dedication is often rewarded with a larger workload and/or discredit. Expenses are questionable at best. It's unfortunate for those talented people that sustain the company giving their best. Familiarity is key to succeed, at least for a while longer. A few (or many) drinks at social events might prove more valuable to your career than your actual work. You can step aside or go with the flow. The end result is the same either way, and it's a long way down.
