Management of company is very bad and disloyal to their workers, they provide absolutely no work benefits and make the workers pay for all expenses out of pocket. They also have very strict and binding contracts that prevent you from having any rights. The only thing that they care about is their contract with the city of Toronto which they already do such a horrible job up keeping that any error results in immediate termination. Seniority means nothing to this management, they have clipped people working for them for 10 plus years because they refused to change shifts. That man in particular his name was Hoang god bless his soul, Crossdock Systems worked this poor man like a muffled donkey for 10 years and kept him at the same rate of pay all those 10 years- illegal activity- All because he didn’t speak English. This company thrives on their workers either being uneducated and not knowing their rights, or in a tight financial situation that they can’t afford to leave their job.
About the job - I spent 3 years working for this company, going to 50+ addresses per day to service garbage and recycling bins. There is no WSIB so if you injure yourself, your thrown away and replaced, or you can keep working with a hernia which other drivers do if you can believe how messed up that is. I was working 11+ hour days covered in the filth of refuse bins and driving 200 kilometres a day , half of those being all residential streets. You have to pay for your own truck and its maintenance, as well as your own gas, and all other expenses like new clothes every week, daily gloves, safety equipment, heavy duty soap for your body after your done. I personally developed a skin condition before I was fired that does not have a cure.
