Even if you’ve completed everything or you know the tasks are on track and will be finished within the timeline, you’ll still have to stay late because of the so-called ‘team spirit.’ If you don’t get an offer from a Big 4 or any other sizable CPA firm, don’t accept the offer from these smaller ones — you’ll regret it big time. There is no standard for working papers at all; you’ll see 10 completely different styles within the same audit engagement. They barely use any IT tools — the laptops are absolute garbage. It’s super old-school auditing, and the office feels just like a landfill.
