So let’s start with pay. Single adults can’t live off the pay CubSmart offers. Now combine the low pay with company insurance that goes up yearly (last year went up $20/ pay period) and cancels out your .20 - .30 cent yearly raise. Next let’s talk about upper management. They have cut and cut and more cuts to the point where we no longer receive bonuses. No longer receive decent respectable raises, nor did we get any kind of respectable bonus for working through COVID. Company is making record profits, execs are giving their selves huge bonuses and pay raises, but we got a one time $150 bonus for working through COVID…. absolute joke. Advancement - non existent. They brag about promoting from within yet 11 out of the 12 new DMs were hired externally. Next, 401k. Another joke. They don’t pay field employees enough to contribute much to your 401k. If that’s not bad enough, they don’t even cover the fees for the 401k. Work atmosphere - starting to look like Public Storage. They hired a few DMs from Public storage, who brought their friends over, and have turned it into a toxic working environment that includes favoritism, gossiping, and cliques. If you’re not in the clique - watch out. Leadership - not long ago you could run the store as if it was your own. They even encouraged that. Now, you don’t have much say or decision making ability anymore. It’s micromanaged to the point that they tell you when you can take lunch.
