The best thing about Curves was the members. The staff made personal connections with the members; when I left, it was like saying good-bye to family. The weight loss program can be very successful for those who make the effort. Working for a small business enabled me to have the flexibility to easily adjust my work hours when something came up.

Sometimes corporate makes you say "What the heck is that about?" Like after telling ever franchisee to paint their clubs in one of several paint colors, a year later they come in and say you're going to have to repaint if you used this color because the new equipment color clashes/doesn't pop against the color. Many of the staff/owners get tired of hearing "All you need to do is ..., and you'll have X new members a month." It's not that simple.
