Vantaggi
- The people! Because CustomInk is a ~hip~ company, the workforce is young, creative, and talented. You will meet tons of amazing people and make lifelong friends. - This also leads to a great environment. It's casual and there used to be a lot of collaboration. - Benefits. There's always free food, frequent catered lunches or lunch parties for your team. Medical benefits are dirt cheap. Discounts on purchasing blank clothing. Lots of vacation time. - You can actually make a good salary if you're performing well and doing overtime. - There was always encouragement to explore other departments via cross shadowing and training, and a lot of opportunities to try new things. - My training program included training for other positions that I would be working closely with. This was super beneficial in the long run, and it was fun. - There's usually some flexibility with working from home (if you can/need to).
Svantaggi
- The fast growth of the company was it's major downfall. It could not keep up with how quickly things were progressing, and unfortunately led to a lot of inexperienced managers. Not only lower level managers, this includes people managing entire departments. Also caused a lot of veteran employees (successful employees, mind you) to leave the company. - It feels like high school. There are cliques, and it's actually even worse with the management team. - If one of the managers doesn't like you personally, you will never advance. The company needs to work on promoting due to merit and qualifications, and remove the personal aspect from things. A lot of people felt like they were shunned or "black listed" for various reasons. - "Ownership" is a core value of the company; unfortunately, most of the management team does not respect this. - There's a lot of "required" overtime. I don't think this is even legal. - Overall, CustomInk is not what it used to be. Had this review been written 4 or 5 years ago, things would've been very different. Nowadays, you are simply a number and can be easily replaced. They will not care when you leave, regardless of if you were a top performer or not.
